Mehdi Mekni (PhD) Founder of LASER, Associate Professor

Dr. Mehdi Mekni is an associate professor of Computer Science and Cybersecurity at the University of New Haven. He built an international professional career including various research, development, and management positions. His academic career includes computing-related program coordination and curricula design and assessment. Dr. Mekni has been actively contributing to broadening participation from diverse groups of students.

Anwar Ul Haq is a graduate student pursuing a Computer & Information Sciences degree at the University of New Haven. He Received Provost Assistantship from the university and he is working as a Research Assistant with Dr.Mehdi Mekni. He worked as Full stack Web developer in WriteSea. Currently, as a part of team LASER, he is doing his research project on NFTs and Blockchain.

Charitha Sree Jayaramireddy (Research Assistant)

Charitha is a Graduate student at the University of New Haven. She received the TCoE endowed scholarship from the university and is currently working as a Research Assistant under Dr. Mehdi Mekni. She had worked as an SAP Payroll consultant for more than two years. Currently, as part of LASER, she is doing her research project on reinforcement learning algorithms and is also working on building a chatbot for the university.

Keerthi Lavanyeswari Pasala (Research Assistant)

Keerthi is a Graduate student pursuing a Computer & Information Sciences degree at the University of New Haven. She Received Provost Assistantship from the university and she is working as a Research Assistant with Dr.Mehdi Mekni. She worked as Full stack java developer in Cognizant. Currently, as a part of team LASER, she is doing her research project on Intelligent Parking System using Neural Networks

Sree Veera Venkata Sai Saran (Research Assistant)

Saran is a Graduate student pursuing a Computer & Information Sciences  degree at the University of New Haven. He worked as Security Analyst at IBM. Currently, as a part of the LASER team, he is leading a conversational agent-based system for student recruitment, retention, and support.

Sai Kiran Mohal Sukumaran ( Alumini )

Sai Kiran is a Graduate student pursuing his master’s in Computer Science at the University of New Haven. With more than six years in the industry he brings a lot of experience in Big Data and Cloud Computing . Currently, as a part of the LASER team, he and his team are working on using BCI devices ( brain computer interface) using EEG brain signals to interact with games and compare metrics with traditional systems.

Currently, as a part of the Laser team, she is involved in a research project on the management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) vulnerabilitiesto secure the well-established CI/CD and DevOps provisioning practices.
